Most think of that sweet thick maple syrup or the smell of hickory, fur and pine trees when the state of Vermont comes to mind. Sure those things exist in abundance there. What might surprise you is the burgeoning music scene that has always been there, but is now finding its way exported like the other state's more famous products.
This is where we meet Rico James, the musical Hip Hop Conductor who along with others like Pro Know's Music and Es-K are putting the Vermont scene on their back. Their collective goal is to highlight the incredibly talented MC's and vocalists from their community. When Rico and R.M.L. (Owner of MBDR) spoke about this project, it was always with the vision of uniting the MBDR artists with the pool of amazing talent from Vermont.
After all, music is a universal language that connects us all. It binds us with tones, rhythm, and heart. Opening up and sharing yourself with others is a very powerful thing, and it amplifies with collaboration. To everyone out there creating, thank you.
