This short film is an extension of Baghead’s latest instrumental album, "Growth Mindset." The album recognizes the importance and challenge of challenge in moments of change and, of course, growth.
The film directs the viewers attention to the actual events in Baghead’s life. Not only is he a producer, but a cultural worker in his community. Working with the artist collective Family Not a Group (FNG), Bag and his cohort see themselves as part of larger movement with intentions to highlight the beauty in the world we are conditioned to ignore, whilst exposing the realities of society that exploit and damage our communities. The film is a contemplation on what role an artist can take giving the circumstances we face everyday. Do we speak up or do we serve candy?
Bag is set to push creatives and supporters of the cultural movement to wrestle with what role we aim to play. What’s it all for?
